makeovers > BEACHFRONT INSPIRED BEDROOM
-
BEFORE
This room was a hodgepodge of items and looks.
-
BEFORE FURNITURE
Large, dark furniture gave the room a heavy, block-y feeling.
-
AFTER - CAPTURING THE COAST
The bed becomes a billowy cloud in the stormy blue ocean. White netting frames the headboard floor to ceiling, lending height and softness. The lingerie chest moved to the corner to make room for seating in its previous location. A driftwood look paint treatment was added to lighten dark furniture and dark blue to the walls.
-
DRIFTWOOD FURNITURE LOOK
In addition to lightening up the bulky feeling to the armoire with the driftwood-look paint treatment, the previously blank wall of space created by the side of the armoire was made into an place for art and interest.
-
WHITE ACCENTS KEEP IT FRESH
Soft white doors and trim keep the room looking fresh and light.
-
CORNER SEATING
By moving the lingerie chest, a corner of the room was opened up for much needed seating. Sparkle was added by painting an inexpensive wicker chair with siver spray paint and pairing it with a antiqued silver picture frame. The curtains were given a new life by adding off-white panels along the top and new trim.
